WORLD'S FIRST AUTOMATIC WELD CELL

Completing a 4 year
development project, Harrison Saw and Tool have been running the world's first
wide range fully automated band welding cell. The test machine completed an 18
month trouble-free proving program, welding blades 3 - 12 metres in the widths
34 - 67mm. The machine is capable of producing a blade every 46 seconds.
The company has now completed its first order and this has been delivered to
Wikus, Spangenberg, Germany - Europe's largest manufacturers of metal cutting
bandsaw blades.
Wikus are very impressed with the accuracy and production rates of this machine,
and anticipate placing further orders.
Harrisons are in discussion with a number of other leading band manufacturers
and are confident of future orders for this system and various other derivatives
of the system.
As a result of this project, it is anticipated that further jobs will be
created.
