Tooth
Forms
The tooth forms of the WIKUS program differ with respect to the
rake angle of the cutting teeth and the root.

Raker tooth (S) is available in constant tooth pitches of 3-32 tpi and in the variable tooth pitches of 3-4 tpi to 10-14 tpi.
Hook tooth (K)
Hook tooth (K) is available in constant tooth pitches of 0.75-6 tpi and in the variable tooth pitches of 0.55-0.75 tpi to 4-6 tpi.
Skip tooth (L) is available in constant tooth pitches of 2, 3, 4 and 6 tpi.
Trapezoidal tooth (T)
Trapezoidal tooth (T) is available in variable tooth pitches of 0.85-1.15 tpi to 3-4 tpi.
Tooth pitch (Tz)
Tooth pitch is defined as the number of teeth per inch (tpi). 1
inch equals 25,4 mm. In the WIKUS range, a difference is made between constant
tooth pitches with uniform tooth spacing and variable tooth pitches with
different tooth spacing within one toothing interval.
Variable tooth pitches are marked by two dimensions, e.g. 2-3 tpi. With this, 2
tpi signifies the maximum tooth spacing and 3 tpi signifies the minimum tooth
spacing in the toothing interval.

Types of tooth set
Free-cutting action of the bandsaw blade is achieved by setting
the teeth to alternately protrude to the left and right beyond the level of the
band body.

Standard
tooth set can be universally used for cutting thicknesses of more than 5 mm
(3/16") with steel, castings and hard non-ferrous metals. With constant
tooth pitches, the set sequence is left/right/straight (fig. 1).
With variable tooth pitches, one tooth is unset per toothing interval. The
remaining teeth in the interval are recurrently set left/right (fig 2).
Group
set (GS)

For bandsaw in
the tooth pitch range of 4-18 tpi, improved surface quality is obtained with the
group tooth set.
Right-left
set (RL)

With materials
easy to machine, such as non-ferrous metals, plastics and wood, a right/left
wood, a right/left tooth set is especially effective.
Wave
set (WS)

With material
dimensions up to 5 mm (3/16"), such as sheet metal, thin-walled pipes and
profiles, we recommend the wave tooth set.
